We all fall. We all fail. Will you get back up?

Life hits us sometimes. It seems that everyone is either just coming out of a crisis or about to go into one. We all pretend that others are not or can not be going through the same problems we are going through. How selfish it seems to think that our problems are unique and that no one could understand or be there for us. Regardless of your life’s uniqueness, when you get knocked down hard by life, will you get back up? Do you know what it takes to get back up? Do you have what it takes?

1. How are you going to get back up?

Today more people are giving up than ever. Everyone wants to get rich quick on the internet or through other electronic means. Everyone puts little time and even less effort into these “businesses”, and then at the first sign of confrontation, they throw in the towel. Does it really matter if one gives up on the small things? Yes. Yes it most certainly does. If you are young and you quit at everything you start, what happens when life really hits you when you are older? You will most certainly give up. Our smallest daily habits will most certainly determine our long term overall success. Don’t give up on the little things. Push yourself and others to accomplish your goals and dreams.

Survival can be summed up in three words – never give up. That’s the heart of it really. Just keep trying.

Bear Grylls

2. Your dream is your and yours alone.

Some of us don’t even quit because we fail. Some quit becuase others dont believe in our “lofty” dreams or goals. If no one believes in you, is that any reason to quit? No, it absolutely is not. Your dream was not given to them. It was given to you. You must protect it and care for it to watch it grow. Our dreams are our own and we can not go and blame others if they do not come to fruition. You must accept that no one in the world can make your dream a reality more than you. Don’t let others pull you down before you’ve even started. You know what you are worth. Go out and get it.

“The number one reason people fail in life is because they listen to their friends, family, and neighbors.” —Napoleon Hill

3. Your belief is everything.

Once you stop listening to others the pace at which your dream comes into effect will be miraculous. With your belief and yours alone you can achieve your goals. Even without the support of others, people don’t believe in their own abilities enough to make positive change in their lives. When your encounter and obstacle in your path, make it your goal to learn how to overcome it. Where others fail from self doubt, you will succeed knowing that you can adapt and learn. Your mind is willing and able to open up and absorb situations like a sponge. Belief in yourself, your capabilities and your ultimate goals is all you need to keep moving forward.

You are always a student, never a master. You have to keep moving forward.

Conrad Hall

4. Just decide.

Indecision is a scary thing. It can stop even the most determined person from succeeding. But all you have to do it decide. Decide who you are. Decide what you’re going to do. Decide how you’re going to do it. Write all of this down. When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself these questions again. Whatever outcome will lead you to the answers of these questions, that is the correct one. Everyday is a new opportunity to become the person you want to be.

5. Is the world better?

Finally when all is said and done ask yourself, “Is the world better for my being here?”, and think. If the answer is “yes” and your goals are finished, tomorrow you will have the opportunity to start all over. If the answer is “no”, thankfully tomorrow you will still have the opportunity to start all over. Good luck.

“The only thing…

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”- Napoleon Hill

Most people will see what’s wrong with this quote almost instantly. It is a famous quote said by one of America’s supposedly greatest presidents, Franklin D Roosevelt. I challenge that.  In fact I challenge almost everything I hear or see. Napoleon Hill is not a very common name but he undoubtedly changed history and the way that most true business people see the world. I could go on and on about him but I suggest you look him up and start reading his books. They will change your life.

This blog starts with that quote because of one world that keeps ringing in my head, “the secret”. Everyone is looking for the secret whether they know it or not.  They are looking for the secret to love the secret to money or worse the secret to fame. Nowadays I do not read anything that does not keep me moving forward. Some can call is self-help literature or business guru literature, I don’t care the point is that there are hundred, even thousands of books dedicated to giving you everything you could possible want in your life for a fraction of what you pay for your cell phone to look up videos of your friends doing something they’ll regret later. There is NO secret. Grow Up and take responsibility for your own life and read a book.

I do mean to come off as an asshole. I’m fine with that. Are you okay with where your life is going? If your like most people, you have a shit ton of debt that your paying off with a mediocre job that was half of what they promised to you at freshman orientation. You need to wake up and realize no one is going to help you if you don’t help yourself.  This blog was created for two reasons: a) I need to share what I know with the world or my dreams with die unfulfilled in my head and b) I want to help. I want you to do better because I’m writing this blog for anyone who feels they were lied to in the 90s and thought we could live forever, sacred in the 00s that it could all be over in a heartbeat, and scared again in the 10s because you forgot how not to be. This is for us.
